DELIVERY & STORAGE

Individual components of every finished door set are first packed independently and then entire set is packed as one unit. All surfaces are protected with the shrink wrap material further protected by using bubble wraps. Door sets are delivered at site using weather sealed trucks to protect them from any transit damage.

  • The Door Shutters should be kept covered in storage locations so that the chance of getting exposed to direct sun light, high moisture, extreme heat etc is avoided. This is also to prevent exposure to ultra violet light, which can cause fading or dis-colouration of timber/ Coating. The Plastic wrapping/ packing should be retained till it is installed.
  • Doors should be stored flat (never on edge or on end) on a level surface and kept clear of the floor on at least three level bearers. The bearers should be longer then the width of the doors. The Shutters should be stored in locations with proper air circulation & ventilation.
  • The handling of Door Shutters during loading/ unloading shall be done with utmost care to avoid any damage.
  • The Door Shutters supplied are ideally suitable for installation in internal locations and are not recommended for External use due to increased chance of direct exposure to sun light and rain.
  • Drillings for Lock and Hinges should be done with the help of a trained carpenter and with suitable tools to avoid chipping / breakage.
  • Doors need to be sealed on all faces and edges with appropriate protective coatings such as PU Sealer, PU Enamel etc. before installation. Close attention should be paid to top and bottom edges, cut areas for lock and hinge housings and holes for letter plates.
  • For Moulded Panel Door and Flush door, installation must be ensured using full thread screws. If permanent fixtures of screws are required the screws may be dipped in a suitable adhesive such as Fevicol before installation.
  • During installation the shutter should be aligned in the rebate properly, both horizontally and vertically. A uniform clearance of 3 MM shall be retained on both sides and top side, and for bottom side the minimum clearance should be 5 to 7 MM to take care of the undulations in Flooring.
  • For Finished Door Shutters, sizing at site by planning/ ripping is not recommended as it will remove the protective coating and expose the wood. In case any sizing is done due to inaccuracy in the wall opening or Frame sizes, the cut surface should be immediately sealed with proper PU Coating Materials.
